Nick Pivetta (vs. SF) | 25.8% Owned
Pivetta had an excellent start to the season, allowing just eight earned runs in his first 28.0 innings (2.57 ERA) of the season but has struggled in his last two outings. The 25-year-old right-hander has allowed 10 earned runs in 6.0 innings (15.00 ERA) in his last two games, but they both came against two of the best offences in baseball (vs. ATL / @ WSH).
His two most recent outings have dropped his owned percentage over 20%, but he makes for a solid streaming option tonight and free-agent pickup going forward. On the season, Pietta carries a 3.77 xFIP (t-37th)and is giving up hard-contact at a very low rate—23.5%, which ranks in the top-5 in the MLB.
The Phillies have held the Giants to just two runs through the first two games of the series while outscoring them 15-to-2. San Francisco ranks 21st in OPS (.703) and 25th in runs scored per game (3.97).

Domingo German (RP) — Yankees — 18.6% Owned
German is only listed as a relief pitcher on ESPN right now, but he should get SP eligibility at some point. German started the year in the Yankees’ bullpen before starting on Sunday with Jordan Montgomery going on the disabled list. With Montgomery being shutdown for 6-to-8 weeks, German will get a chance to prove he belongs in the rotation.
German is ranked as the Yankees’ No. 18 prospectand is coming off of an excellent 2017 campaign in the minors. German split his year between Double-A and Triple-A, posting a 2.88 ERA, 1.13 WHIP, 9.8 K/9 and 3.7 K/BB ratio in 109.1 innings.
While he was strong out of the pen, his first start was even better. German threw 6.0 innings of no-hit ball with two walks and nine strikeouts to earn a quality start and no-decision. He is scheduled to make his second start vs. the Athletics on Saturday afternoon.
Not too many people are talking about German yet, but they will be soon. German has an average spin rate of 2525 RPMon his fastball, which is among the elite in baseball—currently ranks ninth. Mix that with a two-seamer, changeup and curveball that are all generating swings-and-misses and the Yankees might have found another gem.
